Candle Care

How to Care for My Candles

All of our candles are handcrafted using high quality 100% soy wax for a clean and long lasting burn. To ensure you are able to gain the most out of your candles:

  • Trim the wick to 5mm before each use - this will help prevent the wick from 'mushrooming' causing excess smoke.
  • Burn your candle for a minimum of 2 hours as this helps reduce your candle from 'tunneling.'
  • Do not let your candle burn for more than 4 hours - this will help reduce the amount of carbon build up on the wick.
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended or near flammable objects.

FAQs:

How long do your candles burn for?
Our candles burn for approximately 40 hours (depending on usage and candle care).

Why does my candle burn straight down the middle, leaving a ring of unused wax around the edge?
This is called 'candle tunnelling' and is caused when the candle is extinguished before the melted wax has reached the edges of the container. Soy wax has a 'melt memory', so the candle will continue to burn in the same small circle every time afterwards. To prevent this from happening, ensure that you let the candle burn for at least 2 hours or until the entire surface is melted before extinguishing it.

Why does the surface of my candle have cracks/imperfections after burning?
As we use soy wax for our candles, this type of wax can produce cracks or small imperfections (such as a frosted effect) after being burned. These are completely normal and do not affect the scent or overall performance of the candle.
